Find the official record
Use Southwark’s meetings, agendas, and minutes service to search papers and decisions. It also links to the forward plan for forthcoming key decisions. A report may recommend a course of action; the minutes record what the meeting actually decided.
When checking a decision, look for:
- the decision date and the person or body responsible;
- the proposal, supporting report, and any amendments;
- the buildings or area affected;
- conditions, an effective date, and any recorded follow-up.
Approval, a proposed timetable, and completion of work are different stages. A programme entry alone should not be described as completed work.
Scrutiny and service complaints
Southwark’s scrutiny committees examine services, policies, and decisions. The overview and scrutiny committee can call in executive decisions for reconsideration, but scrutiny does not investigate individual complaints. Southwark’s scrutiny guidance.
